Therapeutic Yoga Wall Class - Tues, Sun 23
With the assistance of the yoga wall straps, slings, bars and harnesses we will be doing poses that are known to many, but the “familiar” postures are experienced in a decidedly different way with the yoga wall. Often, with the help of the yoga wall, poses can be held longer and the shape of your “familiar” pose will often be different. It is very illuminating and balancing to experience this approach to the yoga āsanas. The level of difficulty is not great, but this is a class for people with some yoga experience.

Mandala Workshop - Sat, Dec 13
Create your own Mandala while learning about and experiencing the attitudes of mindfulness. Additionally, you will enjoy a mindful-movement practice and a restorative-rest session enhanced by sound medicine. All materials are provided. No prior yoga experience is required.
We will practice asanas and be taught to create a mandala to practice the Yogic concepts of dharana (concentration) and dhyana (meditation). It’s impossible to ‘empty’ the mind, but we can train it to become so completely absorbed with one thing that we lose all sense of time and space. This is the process of dharana and dhyana.
A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol. It can be understood in two different ways: externally as a visual representation of the universe, or internally as a guide to connect with universal energy. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness.
Workshop Schedule:
- Philosophy, dotting instruction, & applying our first layer of paint
- Gentle asana practice
- Applying our second layer of paint
- Restorative asanas with sound medicine
$40 includes all supplies: circular stone, dotting tools, paint, and a surface on which to paint.
Participation is limited to 15 people, thank you.

T'ai Chi for Health & Relaxation with Laura - Ongoing Series
T'ai Chi Ch'uan is literally translated as “supreme ultimate boxing”. The “supreme ultimate” part refers to the Chinese concept of the origin of the universe. Out of the infinite potential of the void arises the dual principles of yin and yang. Yang being the male, warm, forceful, light principle, and Yin being the female, cool, yielding, dark principle. Neither one of these principles is superior to the other, and both are necessary because each contains some of the other. They are two sides of the same coin. The yin-yang symbol is also a symbol of T'ai Chi. T'ai Chi Ch'uan is a harmonious dance of yin and yang sometimes referred to as “meditation in motion”.
T’ai Chi was originally practiced as a martial art emphasizing strength and speed. Through time it has evolved into a gentle form of exercise that can be practiced by people of all ages. It consists of a sequence of movements that are performed slowly, softly and gracefully with smooth, even transitions.
This is a six week series with classes meeting once per week: The cost is $65 per person
