Girish Returns! Mantra Kirtan & Live Music Yoga - Fri May 8 + Sat May 9
Join us for a healing evening of call and response chanting with beloved yogi-musician-author, Girish! Pre-sale tickets $30/$40 after May 7th.
Yoga and live music are a GREAT combination! Let go and let your yoga flow as Kristie leads us through a soul-opening asana practice, infused with the beats and rhythms of Girish's soul stirring tunes. Class ends with a Sanskrit lullaby during Savasana followed by one call and response chant, chai tea and community connection.
Girish, an accomplished musician of many genres, former monk immersed in spiritual practice, loving wordsmith linking lyrics and rhythm in a blissful musical event, sings traditional Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist. Accompanied by his amazing band, Girish invites his audience to participate by singing along, call and response chanting, and dancing. Girish has been recommended by “The Guardian,” “The Oprah Magazine,” “Yoga Journal,” “Spirituality and Health Magazine,” and more. Girish's original music catalog of seven albums is popular in yoga studios and music festivals all over the world, and his book, “Music and Mantras” (Atria/Enliven/Simon and Schuster) continues his work to teach the art of meditation through music, to the world.

Doug Keller: Optimal Yoga for Our Times - Fri, Sat, Sun Jun 19-21
Throughout its history, yoga has adapted to the needs of the times — retaining its essential wisdom, while recontextualizing it to meet the practical needs and understanding of people facing the most pressing challenges of their own time.
This workshop gives you a fresh perspective on just what is happening in yoga practice, and how it provides you with support that gives you what you really need — especially in terms of health: physical, emotional, and spiritual. That, indeed, is optimal yoga!

Yin Yoga with Lana - Spring Awakening - Sat Apr 18 2026
Join Lana for her Seasonal Yin workshop. Our time together will include Yin Yoga āsana, prānāyāma, and chant. If you’re new to this style of practice, Yin Yoga
involves holding poses for 2-5 minutes, close to the earth, often with the support of props. We will delve into the element of Wood and the archetype of The Visionary
from Traditional Chinese Medicine. We can look to the trees for inspiration to stay rooted, and become flexible and agile enough to receive and collaborate, as we pursue our purpose.

Sun, April 19th 5:30pm
Please join us and bring a dish to share. We will meet at 5:30pm at Yoga Central and, yes, there will be tables and chairs.
If your dish has nuts, wheat or dairy, no problem, but please label it that way. Thank you.
The Vegetarian Club of Canton began in 1989 and for many years promoted healthy, conscientious and sustainable ways of eating. Featured guests, delicious recipes and fun evening get togethers helped spread information about eating more wisely. The club closed with COVID, but some special pop-up events are still offered.

T'ai Chi & QiGong with Laura - Multiple Ongoing Series
T'ai Chi Ch'uan is literally translated as “supreme ultimate boxing”. The “supreme ultimate” part refers to the Chinese concept of the origin of the universe. Out of the infinite potential of the void arises the dual principles of yin and yang. Yang being the male, warm, forceful, light principle, and Yin being the female, cool, yielding, dark principle. Neither one of these principles is superior to the other, and both are necessary because each contains some of the other. They are two sides of the same coin. The yin-yang symbol is also a symbol of T'ai Chi. T'ai Chi Ch'uan is a harmonious dance of yin and yang sometimes referred to as “meditation in motion”.
T’ai Chi was originally practiced as a martial art emphasizing strength and speed. Through time it has evolved into a gentle form of exercise that can be practiced by people of all ages. It consists of a sequence of movements that are performed slowly, softly and gracefully with smooth, even transitions.
This is a six week series with classes meeting once per week: The cost is $65 per person
Qigong (pronounced "chee gung") is an ancient Chinese method of improving health and enhancing vitality. In this class we will use a variety of gentle exercises to gather, store, cleanse, strengthen and circulate vital energy (Qi). Gentle stretches and strength building movements are part of this practice. Release stress and increase energy as you coordinate breath with movement and intention.
This class meets once a week for 6 weeks.
