A Day Retreat of Inquiry & Kripalu Yoga with Kristie Leahy Comsia- Sat, Apr 27
This Day Retreat led by Kristie offers the perfect opportunity for exploration of the Self across a variety of Yogic practices, using the framework of Kripalu Yoga Methodology.

Mytho-Somatic Yoga - Sat, Apr 27
This class is a shared container for liberating the imagination (mythos) and body (soma) from the toxicity of the impact of inherited notions of who and how we are supposed to be, so that who and how we actually are can flow unimpeded from the source of our being into expression in our lives. This is a ritualized praxis that works in alignment with seasonal and lunar cycles, weaving lyrical movement, somatic yoga, breathwork, restorative yoga, massage and craniosacral in service to collective liberation.
This is an all-levels, all-bodies welcome class that nourishes the organs, cultivates vitality, and fortify’s the nervous system.
** While not a religious class, its foundation is spiritual and technologies such as ritual, prayer, invocation, and imagery are part of the practice. All are encouraged to come with a curiosity for possibility.
Co-led by Oviya Blackerby and Mike Curtis. Oviya has 8 years experience in bodywork, 10 years in birth work and 18 years in yoga therapy and movement education.

Movement & Mandala- Sat, May 25
In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will practice Asanas (Yoga poses or postures) in preparation for creating a Mandala to practice Dharana (concentration) & Dhyana (meditation).
A Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol. It can be understood externally, as a visual representation of the Universe, or internally, as a guide to connect with Universal Energy. In Hinduism and Buddhism, it is believed that by entering the Mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through a cosmic process of transforming the Universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness. Creating a dot mandala is a great way to practice both Dharana and Dhyana. Focus on each dot as it's placed, and observe without judgment or attachment as the dots merge together to form your Mandala.
Most of us experience what we call the ‘monkey mind’ – restless thoughts jumping around like monkeys leaping from tree to tree – so it takes some discipline and patience to learn how to focus our attention on a single thing. It’s impossible to ‘empty’ the mind, but we can train it to become so completely absorbed with one thing that we lose all sense of time and space. This is the process of Dharana and Dhyana.
$55 includes all supplies that are yours to keep so you can continue your practice at home!
OR, $25 for training only if you bring your own supplies.
Pre-registration is required by May 20th!

Yoga for Mental Health- Fri at 3:30pm
Mindfulness, meditation, yoga and reiki are often highly beneficial for mental health, to include anxiety and the trauma healing process, including diagnosed and undiagnosed PTSD and CPTSD (compound post-traumatic stress disorder). It is also often helpful for a wide variety of neurological disorders. Consistent yoga practice has been shown to reduce heightened states of mental and limbic stress in those with trauma and neurological distress. Over time, it has been shown to help aid in the healing of trauma. It can help calm and regulate the nervous system in those who experience seizures, Parkinson’s, and other neurological states of distress. There is an overlap in how yoga is used for trauma and neurological disorders. You are not required to have a PTSD, trauma-related, or neurological disorder diagnosis to take this class. Neurological health is beneficial to all! This class is friendly to those in wheelchairs and to multiple physical and mental situations. This class is not intended to diagnose or cure.
For this class, the term post-traumatic experience is used as the instructor does not think those with trauma and/or PTSD should be limited by calling them disordered. While it is not a pleasant experience to live with the aftermath of traumatic events, she believes that those with trauma PTSD are dealing with the body and brains survival response rather than some ugly thing that needs to be looked down upon or avoided. By not avoiding it and approaching it gently, healing can and does happen, although this class is not guaranteed to cure you.
Taught by USMC veteran Mianna Morrison, this class provides a safe, understanding, unlimiting, and unintrusive space designed to limit triggers and allow you to be fully yourself. Mianna struggled with CPTSD and seizures for many years. Yoga was and is an essential component of her healing journey, and she wants to share it with you. She received her certification in teaching post traumatic aware yoga in 2022.
If you prefer a private session or a session with less than 10 people, please email the instructor at miannamorrisonoffice@gmail.com.
If you are having trouble getting your class to work, please contact the instructor or studio.
Please consult a medical professional if you have any pressing physical issues. This class is not intended to diagnose or cure.
